This year WWT London Wetland Centre will host the Love London Recycled Sculpture Show.

The 42 hectare London Wetland Centre is the best urban site in Europe to watch wildlife, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Silver Tourism Award winning visitor attraction.

The 2008 award recognised the centre for providing excellent habitats and refuges for a wide variety of wildlife. The site is home to 180 different bird species, supports a breeding colony of endangered water voles and is a haven for more than half of all UK dragonfly and damselfly species.
The centre is also a sanctuary for bats, with over seven different species recorded onsite and plans for a bat house to be built at the centre in 2009 will provide a shelter for the bats that visit the centre.

More than 24 talented artists are involved in the show this year, creating ‘wetland’ inspired artworks from discarded and waste materials placed throughout the site. These artworks will appeal to all ages so don’t miss these unique sculptures at WWT London Wetland Centre on until April 2010.

The Recycled Sculpture Show serves as the official media launch pad of the Love London ‘Green’ Festival. Last year hosted at ZSL London Zoo.

The Love London ‘Green’ Festival (formerly Sustainability Weeks) is organised by London21 with support from the Mayor of London’s office.
